Frequently Asked Questions

Anytime you need medical care, it’s only natural to have questions. Here we have answered some of the more common ones we often hear but invite you to contact us with any additional questions you may have.

What types of insurance do you accept?

We are currently in-network with Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna Health, CIGNA Healthcare, United Healthcare, Coventry Healthcare, First Health Network, Mail Handlers, Humana Choice Care, and Humana Military (Tricare). We also accept Memorial Health Partner's insurance, including CBCA (Gulfstream). We are very interested in becoming an in-network provider with The Care Network (Georgia Ports and Savannah Business Group); please express your interest in our participation to your employer and your CBCA representative.

Do you accept patients without insurance?

Yes!  We accept patients without health insurance and offer a discount on our medical-service fees for the uninsured when they pay in full at the time of service.

If I don't have insurance, what forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Cash and Check.

What types of illnesses / injuries do you most often see?

We see coughs, colds, flu, sore throats, minor lacerations and wounds, minor burns, rashes, simple fractures, sprains and strains and other sports injuries, urinary tract infections, asthma, and allergies. We also provide some vaccinations as well as school, sports, and employment physicals.  We have the ability to do minor lab testing such as strep testing, urinalysis, mononucleosis (mono) testing, flu testing, pregnancy testing, drug testing and more!

Do you provide occupational health services and evaluation and treatment of work-related injuries?

Yes! Our providers and staff have extensive training and knowledge in occupational medicine allowing them to provide the highest level of service to employers and their workers. We offer evaluation of work-related injuries, drug-screen testing, alcohol testing, DOT physicals, vaccinations, laboratory testing and much more!

What are your hours of operation?

9 a.m. – 7 p.m. Monday through Friday
9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday
9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Sunday

What if I need medical attention after hours?

If you have an emergency, dial 911.  If you have a medical need that is not an emergency outside of our hours of operation, you would need to contact your primary care physician's office on call, or go to the nearest emergency room.

Can I come to The UCC for routine exams and check-ups, too?

Sure! We are able to provide routine exams and physicals on an intermittent basis as needed, but do not provide continuity of care as your regular primary care physician does.

How much will it cost if you don’t take my insurance or if I don’t have insurance?

Cost is dependent upon the complexity of your need and the diagnostic testing and/or treatments that are recommended.  We do discount our services for all uninsured patients.

Do you take appointments?

No, appointments are not needed at The UCC of Richmond Hill but you can sign in online at www.gourgentcare.com and get a Zip Pass, which will give you the next available time to be seen so that you can wait in the comfort of your own home.

Are you affiliated with a hospital system?

We are locally owned and operated but still adhere to all of the same standards, such as HIPAA and OSHA that hospitals do.
